1. Background / Context
Automation initially emerged as a way to remove repetitive manual work from individual business processes. As demand increased, however, managing automation as a collection of independent projects became difficult to scale. Different teams had different priorities, processes varied significantly, and every new automation required decisions around feasibility, value, ownership and support. The opportunity was to move beyond individual bots and establish automation as a repeatable enterprise capability.

• Automation opportunities were being identified independently across business functions.
• Not every manual process was a good candidate for automation.
• Business demand needed to be prioritized against technical feasibility and expected value.

Key Finding
Scaling automation was not primarily a bot-development problem. It required a repeatable operating model for deciding what to automate, how to prioritize it and how to manage it after deployment.
